FREQUENTLY ASK QUESTIONS

1. How can I confirm that my luncheon registration went through?

If after you submitted the RSVP form, you were transferred to a “Thank You” page, you registration went through.  You will also be notified via email within several hours of your submission. If you do not receive an email, please email us at our
luncheon email address .

2. Something came up and I cannot attend the luncheon.

If it is prior to the Friday before the luncheon, just email our
luncheon email address .  If it is after Friday, you are responsible for finding someone to take your place or paying the cost of the luncheon.

3. I am sometimes interested in the luncheon topic but do not want to eat and do not want to earn CPEs.  Can I still attend?

No, due to capacity limitations and the contract with the hotel, only individuals who paid for the luncheon can attend.

4. Why are so many of the luncheon topics geared to DFAS employees?

While we realize we have a diverse group of individuals from the public sector who are members, over 85% of the luncheon attendees are Defense Finance and Accounting Service (DFAS) employees and 90% are with the federal government. When we schedule a session that is of interest to DFAS employees and/or federal government, we try to schedule the other luncheons to be of general interest.

5. Why do I see some of the same luncheon speakers back.

Some of “repeat” speakers are asked back because we always get a high turnout when these individuals speak and in surveys these individuals get high ratings.

6. I see that AGA is giving out a scholarship. What do I need to do to be considered for this scholarship?

The AGA Cleveland chapter annually gives out  a scholarship to a deserving student using the strict criteria set-up by AGA National. It is open to anyone who is current taking college classes. You do not have to be an AGA member or even work for the government to be eligible.  AGA Cleveland members are notified via email where to get information to apply for this scholarship.  If you are not a member and would like to be considered for this scholarship, check the AGA Cleveland website
, frequently during the year for information.

7. I noticed past recipients of the AGA scholarship do not work for the government.  Why are these individuals getting scholarships?

This scholarship is open to any well deserving student. No preferential treatment is given to government workers and/or AGA members.  Further information and criteria are posted on the
AGA Cleveland website, .

8. I would like to take the examination for a CGFM, where are the testing locations?

There is a
CGFM Examination page  which lists all the exam locations in the Cleveland area along with maps and telephone numbers.
